Only a short drive north of the state capital of Brisbane you’ll find the beautiful beaches and wondrous hinterland regions of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
The area is home to an active community where you will often find the Hot 91 family, a station that embodies “100% Sunshine Coast” investing in the community and working with local charities, sporting clubs and major events.
A big part of the year is the relationship with the Sunshine Coast Turf Club to bring the community one of the biggest race days on the Calendar “Hot 91’s Ladies Oaks Day”, this event has been going for around 16 years and has seen some massive artists perform on the stage in front of thousands of locals.
In 2021 the team is proud to see Sneaky Sound System perform.
The Hot 91 Sky show is a family-friendly event held in two locations at two times of the year Cotton Tree park and Noosa.
Both events see families from right across the region enjoy a day in the park with rides, stalls and entertainment and follow it up with a fireworks display that really inspires the imagination of the kids watching.
Recently Hot 91 has teamed with “Visit Sunshine Coast'' for a local promotion helping to inspire locals to share their pride in the region. “The Hot 100 Things to Do” took nominations on people's favourite activities in the area and voting has commenced on naming the top 100.
It’s also exciting to see partnerships grow with local organisations like Surf Life Saving Queensland through the Nippers program and the “Clubby Calendar” promotion designed to raise funds and awareness.
There is also a strong bond with the National Netball team “The Sunshine Coast Lightning” who have been very successful as a club in a very short period of time. Hot 91 has been there from the beginning.
As “Leaders in Local” the commitment continues with the introduction of more local programming. Popular local hosts Nugget and Al now broadcast the drive home each weekday and there is a newly produced local sports show called “The Sideline View” with Hayley Pointon that goes to air on Saturday afternoons.
The Sunshine Coast is a beautiful destination and highly sought after especially in recent times as the population growth shows. Hot 91 is right at the heart of it all, providing information, support and entertainment 100% of the time because it’s 100% Sunshine Coast.
