Burnie on Tasmania's North West Coast is the gateway to wilderness, art, fresh produce, fresh air and the amazing coast.
The city is home to two distinctly different radio formats - 7BU and SeaFM Burnie - with a service area covering Burnie, Penguin, Wynyard and Circular Head, home to more than 63,000 people.
Both stations are 100% invested in their community and year after year have sponsored local charities, sporting clubs and community groups.
This includes Burnie Harness Racing, The Tulip Festival, The West Coast Classics, The Burnie Dockers, The Burnie Challenge, Burnie Shines, Burnie Excellence in Service Awards, Relay for Life, the Burnie Show, the Burnie Cup and the Gone Nuts Adventure Run.
In 2019 their annual Koinz for Kidz Appeal raised a record-breaking $41,443.40 for the Cancer Council to help kids with cancer and their families on the North West Coast.
The stations support businesses through promotions that encourage people to buy locally; this has included The Lucky $5 Note, Downtown Burnie, Shop Local & Win and Cracker of a Christmas.
The stations also support individuals in the community, including promotions that recognise the achievements of young people and showcasing musicians by inviting them to perform live in the studio each Friday.
And with a commitment to supporting hyper local, both stations have introduced more local and regional news in 2021 and 7BU has strengthened its sports coverage, adding The Sideline View and The Waterboys alongside its successful Saturday Sport show.
