Located in the heart of Townsville, Star 1063 and Power100 are "Leaders in Local" when it comes to their local community.
Coming together as a community and helping those in need was a key part of both station's local involvement.
Here are a select few moments that brought a smile to a lot of local faces across the Townsville community.
Star 1063's 10K for $10k
Crystal & Brady took to the Streets of Townsville to raise money for the inaugural Brighter Lives Giving Day. They managed to scoot on bright orange Neuron scooters 10 kilometres from the Star 106.3 Office in Sturt Street all the way to the Townsville University Hospital raising hitting their goal.
Power100 Convoy For The Cure
Advancing medical research has never proven more important to local cancer families. Townsville's Convoy For The Cure has a long and enduring record of partnership & achievement with the Children's Cancer Institute. And Power100 is proud to be a Convoy for the Cure supporter.
Helping Local Families
Tyler’s Mum has cancer, and his only form of transport is his bike.. it was stolen. So Crystal and Brady from Star 106.3 bought Tyler a new bike, organised him 5 driving lessons for his L’s, and a $200 Coles voucher for Christmas. Merry Christmas to Tyler and his family!
80 year old Jean from Hermit Park had all of the mangos stolen from her one and only mango tree, on her birthday !! So Star 106.3 teamed up with Lamberts to hook Jean up with some mangos. Jean was stoked, and very surprised.
