At Power FM Ballarat, being ‘Leaders in Local’ isn’t just a statement, it’s about living in and contributing to our community.
Either through sponsoring events or being involved in major community initiatives. Power FM understands Ballarat.
Here are some things we’ve been up to recently:
The Push-Up Challenge
In June, Power FM Brekky host Maddie and the team are undertaking The Push Up Challenge in a Push for Better Mental Health.
The goal is 3,318 push-ups in 25 days, that’s the number of Australians that died by suicide in 2019. Join the challenge or sponsor us and help raise funds for Headspace Ballarat.
Shepp Cannery Surplus Grocery Grab
Another great local collaboration, working with Shepp Cannery Surplus the team re-imagined a classic idea in a Grocery Grab and delivered a fantastic promotion combining radio, digital, social and location activity to meet the client’s goals and was a load of fun for our listeners.
Commerce Ballarat Biznet Breakfast
Some of the Power FM Ballarat team attended the monthly Commerce Ballarat Biznet Breakfast.
It’s one of the longest-running networking opportunities in Ballarat and we are proud to continue our 20+ year partnership.
The Power FM Slumber Party
On World Sleep Day and we have worked with Forty Winks Ballarat to create a major tactic, “The Power FM Slumber Party”.
Commencing with a brekky Broadcast, four listeners climbed into bed for the day and undertook hourly challenges in order to win a $4,500 bedding package.
The public was also encouraged to come in and vote for the one wearing the best PJ’s. This was backed with hourly live crosses to an announcer in store along with social posts.
Apple for the Teacher
The search is on for Ballarat's favourite teacher!
We've rounded up the 10 finalists and now it's time to vote.
Lydiard St Petition
On May 30, 2020, a train travelling twice the speed limit destroyed the historic railway crossing gates in Lydiard Street, Ballarat.
This vital thoroughfare has remained closed for nine months with no sign of action to have it repaired and reopened. Power FM launched a petition to get Lydiard Street reopened ASAP.
Wonder Woman was out and about surprising special Ballarat Mums for Mother’s Day in the brand new Ford Puma.
Visit Ballarat, Made Of: Ballarat
We are really proud to be supporting Visit Ballarat, Ballarat City Council, Committee for Ballarat and Commerce Ballarat for the launch of a new initiative to attract people to Ballarat and to showcase everything we have to offer.
Easter Egg Drop
Power FM and Ryan’s IGA Easter Egg Drop kept Ballarat supplied with plenty of chocolate over Easter as well as plenty of opportunities to say hello and snap a photo with the Easter Bunny!
