Broadcasting in the Shoalhaven & Southern Highlands, 2ST and 94.9 Power FM have been ‘Leaders in Local’ for almost 50 years.
From keeping the community informed and safe through the devastating bushfires and floods, to raising money for local charities, the teams at 2ST and 94.9 Power FM place a huge emphasis on being local and having their communities’ back.
Andy & Kaley hit the treadmill for Relay For Life
Earlier this year, Andy & Kaley from 94.9 Power FM’s Breakfast Show, got behind the Cancer Council’s annual Relay For Life.
This year was a little different - thanks to COVID - and participants were encouraged to ‘Relay Your Way’. Andy & Kaley got creative and broadcasted all day from a treadmill, sharing stories of locals who survived cancer and helping raise money for the cancer community in the Shoalhaven.
Stolzy AKA PIF Man
It took Stolzy all of 5 seconds to don a superhero costume and become Shoalhaven's very own PIF Man (Pay It Forward Man).
From servos and supermarkets, to vaccination clinics and cafés, PIF Man visited over 10 local businesses to surprise them with delicious goodies and recognise their amazing contributions to the community.
Power FM trawl the streets for a $1,000 selfie
Andy & Kaley hit the streets of the Shoalhaven & Southern Highlands to snap socially-distanced selfies with listeners, one of which would eventually have a $1,000 bounty on its head.
This tactic meant the, then, fresh Breakfast Show got to learn about their local community and meet as many listeners as possible.
Stolzy made it rain money with the BT-50 Ball Grab
Every day 2ST’s Stolzy visited a different location across the Shoalhaven & Southern Highlands to give deserving listeners the chance to win some cold hard cash!
Andy & Kaley support Share The Dignity
Andy & Kaley loaded up a trolley of lady supplies to donate to Share the Dignity to make a real, on-the-ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness and fleeing domestic violence.
