Leaders In Local - Bundaberg

Bundaberg Broadcasters consists of Hitz 93.9 and 4BU who broadcast to the Bundaberg and the surrounding Wide Bay-Burnett region.

From keeping the community informed and safe through emergency situations to raising money for local charities, the teams place a huge emphasis on being local and actively involved in the community.

Hitz Helping Hand

The team at Hitz 93.9 are always looking for ways to give back and support the local community.

The Hitz Helping hand is a great example of how they can use their great relationships with local business to offer support to many people doing it tough in the area.

Using a resource of $20 000 they managed to help 50 people over 6 weeks giving back to a community that responded with some beautiful messages.

Hitz Helping Hands was such a huge success there are already plans to bring it back next year.

Matty & Trace are the "Hitz 939 Fuel Fairies"

The breakfast team of Matty and Trace are never shy to embarrass themselves a little to gain a good laugh from the locals. Over a massive 10 weeks, they headed out to random BP locations to supply lucky locals with free fuel. Another great way to support the community in a very hands-on way.

Carols By Candlelight

One of the regions biggest community events is the annual "Carols By Candlelight' that Bunderberg Broadcasters organise each year. Although the event was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid, previous years had seen over 10,000 people in attendance.

The team is working hard to ensure that the event is bigger and better than ever before in 2021 and is set to be a great lead into Christmas on Friday, December 10th.

Local Sports and Events

Sport is at the heart of any local community and Hitz 939 and 4BU are heavily involved with local sporting organisations by providing sponsorship and a show (The Sideline View) that focuses on local sport.

The team are proud to support "The Bundaberg Broadcasters Premiership" (Rugby League) and have also recently become sponsors of "Football Bundaberg" where the "Hitz 939 Cup" was held in May.

This highly skilled team of announcers and committed, community-minded staff work as a team to ensure that the radio stations continue to go from strength to strength as a leader in local.
