Chilli FM has been broadcasting in Tasmania’s northern city of Launceston and across the North East of the state and supporting its communities for 11 years.
Year after year Chilli FM has sponsored local charities, sporting clubs and community groups and events, including Agfest, Relay for Life, Festivale, Junction Arts Festival, Mona Foma, Loafs and Fishes Solstice Swim, MND Big Freeze, Volunteer Emergency Services Awards, Launceston Christmas Parade, Tas Special Children’s Christmas Party, Tornadoes and Encore Theatre.
Below are some highlights of the ways Chilli FM gives back to its community.
Each year Chilli FM celebrates its birthday on Australia Day eve with its annual Skyfire event. The free community gathering brings together all ages and demographics for an afternoon and evening of live local music and dance performances, sideshows and rides, food and refreshments. It finishes with Northern Tasmania's single largest pyrotechnic display, which is simulcast on Chilli FM.
Tasmania's premier, multi-award-winning agricultural field days event, which Chilli broadcasts live from each year.
MND Big Freeze
Raising money to help find a cure for motor neurone disease, with the highlight being the Big Freeze where breakfast announcers Dan & Marie take a dip into an ice cold pool (in costume of course!).
Relay for Life
Relay For Life brings communities together to celebrate cancer survivorship, remember loved ones lost and raise money to fight back against cancer.
