Friday July 23rd is National Pyjama Day and 5 local Townsville “stars” were stuck in a queen size bed in the Willows Shopping Centre Carpark from 6am, until they could raise $1,000 each for the Pyjama Foundation.
- MP Les Walker
- Kellie from Support Local Townsville
- Michael Jones CEO of The Ville
- Deputy Mayor Mark Molachino
- And Star1063 breakfast host Crystal Vas
Crystal says “I’ve been a pyjama angel for 6 months now, meaning I am a volunteer who spends an hour a week teaching life skills to a kid in foster care. Every kid deserves to have people around them who believe in them.”
MP Les Walker believes the Pyjama Foundation do an amazing job and he said it “was an easy decision to get involved.”
Cr Mark Molachino says he has already been in a bed with 4 people, being a father to children, but only being a queen size bed , he will be attempting to raise the money “as soon as possible.”
The community showed their support in droves and were even joined by the local Fire & Rescue. The goal was smashed bringing in $10,000 for The Pyjama Foundation.
The Pyjama Foundation supports children in foster care, bringing them life skills and confidence to change the direction of thier lives.
An amazing community event that shows that Star 106.3 are #LeadersInLocal in the Townsville Community.
